·         Use evidence from your research into: similar products; the industry context; your target audience, as well as theoretical perspectives, to explain your decisions:

o    How will you target your intended audience?

Media language will be used in my cross – media production, in my DVD Cover, with media language featuring aspects of the main title, tagline and blurb. Furthermore, media language will be used in the Poster One which is to be promoted towards a British Audience/ Consumers, whilst the Second Poster is aimed towards the French Market/ audience. Media language will be embedded and foreshown within the marketing aspect of the cross – media production. The media language will be presented in the form of an interview on the radio broadcast, alongside the presenter and interviewee, which is based/ located in the studio. In addition, the media language will also feature on the critical responses/ reviews, which is based/ located on the red carpet, which offers insight and numerous individual opinions to form an overall judgement on the film. The reason for the use of media language in my cross – media production is to attract an audience’s attention towards the product, whilst also offering an opportunity for marketing the product, to ensure the product reaches as many people as possible, whilst potentially engaging an interest of the audience with the product.

I will construct gender representations, by featuring a male and female protagonist on the front cover. This gender representation has been constructed to ensure a fair representation of gender is foreshown. In addition to this, it has allowed an equilibrium to be presented, as there is an equal representation of gender on the front and back cover of the DVD. Furthermore, representation of diverse ethnicity will be constructed on the front DVD Cover. With a mixed race female protagonist being presented, alongside a white male. The reason for the representation of both a male and female protagonist, is to ensure an audience can engage with the DVD cover, whilst also being able to engage and identify themselves within the film. This allows an audience to interpret the characters/ protagonist as relatable and thus, make the film appear more appealing. The representation of a mixed-race protagonist also allows the audience to identify a diverse cast, as well as allow the audience to identify themselves within the film. This is significant to attract an audience, as well as make a film which can be conveyed as relatable and authentic. The representation of events/ issues of secrecy will feature within the film, to allow the audience to identify a part of their own individual life within the film. The topic of secrecy allows an individual or group of people to reflect on their own individual lives, whilst also considering and re-thinking on how it affects thopse around them.

I will target my intended audience, by ensuring the topic/ subject covered within the film is appropriate and ideal for such an age group. The topic subject tackled within the film is secrecy and communication, and how these factors affect a relationship. By offering such a topic matter, I hope to inform and touch an audience, as they reflect and reconsider their own lives, and how these topics impact one’s life. The use of a female and male protagonist also allows the audience to relate to the film, as they can see a part of themselves within the film/ context of narrative. The use of a diverse cast allows an audience to be engaged and attracted towards the narrative of the film.
